I hate to admit it but I apperantly know lees about my gun then I thought. I disasembled my Super Blackhawk, and I can not get the main string back in place. Anyone know a trick to compress the spring to get it back where it belongs?

I have to say I have torn down every aspect of several auto's and never had a problem. I figured how hard can a single action be? wow that was dumb I am glad I am not the only one who had problems with it.

Now that the answer has been shown, the trick is not letting it get away in the first place.

After ensuring the gun is unloaded or better yet removing cylinder and replacing the base pin.

Upon disassembly take off the grips, cock the hammer and run a punch or a pin through the hole in the bottom of the strut, then lower the hammer. The tension on the spring is then held by the pin that you placed in it and the strut with spring attached will slide out and back in easily.

My first time left an indelible impression on me. :uhoh:
