Thought I was getting a bargain when I picked up a Lyman universal decapper die new at a gunshow yesterday for 12$. The joke was on me & my wallet! After decapping less than 100 rounds of .38 spec, the die bent, then broke when I attempted to straighten it up. Looks like I will be sticking to Lee dies from now on.

I have a Lee universal decapping die. To be honest I haven't used it much. The pin has the abillity to slide up if too much force is encountered. I did find it slid up a little to easily so far.

Maybe Lyman will take care of you if you call them.

Good luck,

Hmmm, I've decapped thousands of military brass with crimped primers with my Lyman, and think highly of it. Why not contact Lyman and see what they will do for you?

Out of the box, the collet isn't very tight. Tighten her up and go to town. I heart my Lee Universal Decapper.
