Im having a hard time comparing the two size wise, none of the stores near me have any for me to compare them side by side. I know the 340 has a shorter barrel, but is the grip shorter and the frame thinner then the 101?

340 is 12 oz.
Sp101 is 25 oz.

I haven't done a side by side comparison but IMO 340 feels much smaller than the SP101.

Thanks HIFK , Im considering the 340 M&P, had an SP101 a few years ago, it was a great little snubby but a little heavy for pocket carry, I hope I wont be disapointed in my first Smith..

Look at the M&P 340 also. It's just like the 340 except it has a stainless cylinder, it's black, and it has a bigdot tritium front sight.
