Anyone slugged theirs to check? I just got one and am curious if Ruger used .308 barrels on them. Tony

AnthonyB: Sir; go to RugerForum.com. They are all over Rugers. Sir; a bunch will answer you quickly.
I am sure someone here might know. But for the quick.

Standard bullet diameter is .312, so I doubt that Ruger's barrels run .308. Chamber throats might be .308 though. At one time their .45 Colt chambers had a reputation for being undersized.

Fellas, thanks for the quick responses. I still need to slug mine but am pretty sure the throats are too tight. Tony

My bore is .312 but the throats were too tight. Once I had the throats sorted out the accuracy improved quite a bit. Ruger has had some notorious throating issues in several models.

I called ruger a couple of years ago about this. They said .312 to .313. Thats what my barrels slugged. The throats on 2 sp101s and a fixed sight single six measured .310.
I opened the throats to .313. The 2 adjutable sighted single sixs i have measure .313 for the throats. Hope this helps.

Well hello Wil Terry. Are you still shooting that 32/32 Smith & Wesson?
