Why does new brass cost almost as much as factory rounds? (at least comparing to Blazer Brass!)

Probably because most people won't even look at it let alone buy it. If you need brass buy once used brass for considerably less money.

it doesn't cost as much in many calibers. You can get 1k of 10mm Starline brass for $136 bucks. 1000 rounds of Blazer 10mm for $408. It is like that for many, MANY calibers.
