OK, I'm usually good at finding firearms information, on items I'd like to buy, however I can not find anything on this Ruger Mark III in 17 Mach 2. Does anybody know if this even made it out of production? Did it die in testing? My daughter is getting interested in shooting, and I thought this would be a good low recoil, accurate pistol for her to start with. I can't find it any where except for a couple of articals and a 2004 press release from Ruger with the model # KMKIII817. Can anybody help me out here?

Never heard of it.

Sounds like a cool pistol.

A regular old Ruger pistol in .22 should satisfy the low recoil great accuracy requirement if you can't find one of these.

Fast Frank,
I have a semi auto in 22LR, I'm using this as an excuse to buy another gun

It never made it out of R&D, to much slap in the bolt. So the search for a resonable price 17 Mach 2 semi pistol will continue.

Gun Blast did a review on the Excel Arms Accelerator pistol chambered in .22 WMR. I see on their site that it can also be had in .17 HMR.

Haven't seen anything in .17 HM2 if you are specific about that cartridge.

I though I read that Volquestrian (sp?) had a conversion kit for the Mark III. I saw the ad I think in the Midway catalog. You might try searching around or hit one of the .22 Ruger web forums. Those guys live ruger .22

Magnum Research shows one on their site. Looks like the Ruger Charger, and is made on the 10/22 action. They call it the Picuda. GB has a few too.
