NGIB

I couldn't resist taking the .22 to the range today as I wanted to see how it would shoot out of the box. I had been planning to get one for a while, but the $249 NIB price yesterday convinced me (blue, 4"). I grabbed a Federal bulk pack (550 rds) and also my P6 as I had put normal Sig sights on it (CDNN had a Sig kit, 3 rears and 2 fronts for $10).
The P6 was first as I wanted this one setup for 6 o'clock hold. I put a #10 on the rear and a #7 on front. Looks like I did OK installing as it shot exactly how I wanted from the first mag. I wanted this one sighted in at 10 yds and it's just like I want it.
Put the Sig away and out came the Taurus. They had 5 NIB at the store yesterday and I picked what seemed to be the smoothest and tightest - yes each one felt a bit different. In fact one of them felt very rough and gritty. Loaded the first 9 and put the target at 7 yds. I put 8 inside the 9 ring with 1 flyer about 2" from the other group. I continued to load and fire until I had shot nearly the whole box through it - at which point it was pretty hot.
In the 400 or so rounds I fired, I only had 1 light hit and it was about 2/3 of the way through the session. The little pistol shot to POA at 7, 10, and 25 yds and was surprisingly accurate. The DA trigger, while a bit heavy, was smooth and predictable and I had no problems keeping on target. I know a Taurus is a crap shoot as they seem to have a lot of lemons; however, if you get a good one it's a keeper. One session does not prove I got a good one but I'm very happy so far. Sure was nice to shoot that much for less than $10 - so this one will get a lot of range time to be sure...
