Thinking about sending mine in and having a 280 barrel fitted. 26 inch tube should work nicely. Already have lots of .284 bullets around so playing will be easy.

Bought a NEF in 280 Remington a while back ,synthetic stock etc. For the money, it's a shooter! The 26 inch barrel gives a velocity advantage over the "standard" 22 inch bolt gun tube. When hand loading for for this action/cartridge combination pressures are probably best kept in the factory load ranges. Ithink you will be pleasantly surprised with your rifle.

Guess I'm wondering----if you're going to the trouble of having a barrel fitted----Why not just get it in 7mm mag and be done with it??

Thanks Sparky. Thought it would be a good way to play. Don't need another 7mm mag. Have two already. Just looking for something else to fool with mostly. Thanks guys.

I know this is old, sorry...

But I'm wondering if you got that .280 barrel and if so, what do you think of it?

The reason I ask is because I am very seriously considering buying an H&R/NEF Handi-rifle in .280...
