When have you experienced a lot of misfires?

So, any of you experience a lot of misfires at one time or another? I hadn't, that changed, and now my eyes are opening.
I hadn't had one misfire, ever, in probably a few thousand rounds of 22s, and 1500 or so rounds of mostly 38s (w/some 357s). Almost enough to stop paying attention - never happens, right? :)
A couple of months ago, one miss-fire of a 22 in my S&W 617. Scared me a bit, as it was so unusual. :uhoh:
Then, on Sunday, an S&B 357 in my Python. Nothing. Fire again. Nothing. Yikes.
Then today. First, with some commerical re-loads from Precision Cartridge. Two out of 60 38s did not fire the first time, but did the second time (again, in my Python). Out of about 100 rounds of Aguila 22s, 2 in my 617 and one in my 317, did not go boom until the second go. HAven't had a probelm with Aguila before, so not bashing them at all.
So, maybe the Python needs a tune-up or the re-loads aren't the best. And I've heard that this is fairly common with 22s. But mainly, for me is to raise awareness that this can and does happen, and that I, as the shooter, need to be aware of it.

The only time I have experienced FTF are when using Remington bulk 22lr from Wally World. Other than that, maybe one or two out of every 2-3k of the bulk Federal, which is so cheap I don't let it bother me even for a second. This is out of my S&W 617, Browning BL22, and my son's Mossy 702. My wife's Ruger 10/22 doesn't like to eject the Federal bulk all the time but she prefers the Thunderbolts anyhow, which there again, I cannot remember a single FTF with them this last year.

Extreme cold is the only time I've had a round not fire.
Signaling to a lost guy across the range that I had heard his three shots, I pulled the trigger and *click, click, click*
After it warmed back up, it shot fine.
Weird.

Cheap bulk pack rimfires on some of my .22s. CCI is usually 100 percent. That's why I wouldn't ever carry a rimfire in an auto, though. Well, I don't carry a .22 anyway, except as a back up, a little mini revolver.
I've had some shotgun shells go "pfffffttt" on me. This is from trying to protect 'em from rusting with 3 in 1 and dunking them several times in brackish water at the duck marsh. The duck was safe. :D I've started carrying my shells in a fanny pack now up under my waders instead of all the years I carried 'em outside in a shell belt. I guess I'm a little slow, just now figurin' this out.
Never had a centerfire handgun fail on me. I don't go dunkin' 'em in salt water, though, LOL! I handloa most of my stuff and am particular how I handle primers. Centerfire primers are very reliable, you just have to keep 'em clean and away from oils and moisture and avoid touching 'em much as you can.

I have bulk pack .22LR misfire fairly requently (let's say one in every 150 rounds or so). Never had a misfire in several thousand centerfire rounds.

+1 to misfires with cheap Remington ammo. No problems with their target ammo, though.
I experience misfires with my target S&W revolvers (centerfire) after playing a game I call "how far can I turn the mainspring tension screw before the gun misfires?"

Hah! I can learn from that. What a great anti-example! :)

I was instructed by the lady at wally world not to buy the remmie stuff as it misfired a lot and they don't offer refunds on ammo. So I got the Federal .22 and had about 10 misfires in 100 rds. Way too many IMO. Many wouldn't fire when re-chambered and struck in a different part of the rim.

I used to shoot IDPA with a S&W 28. I tend to use a grip much like Brian Enos or Rob Leatham. Most revolvers are sub-optimal for this, IME, because the thumb of my right hand goes right on the cylinder release. A bloody thumb is the result. While experimenting with a natural grip that didn't cause serious bodily injury, I though maybe I could rest the thumb on the shelf next to the hammer.
That worked great at the range but my next match, I had about six misfires. I pondered this a bit, as I'd never had this before and I was using Federal ammo. DUH! It hit me like a slap in the face. Thumb + hammer = tied up gun. I shot very slowly and found that I was putting pressure on the hammer. Well color me stupid!
That's it for me. My revolvers have been 100% otherwise.

Never had a missfire with commercial or reloaded center fire. Rimfire, especially remingtons famous golden bullet is another story.

I've got a pistol that hates the Federal bulk pack stuff, but some that never misfire with it. Remington thunderbolt is notorious. CCI seems to work in anything I have. Guns with a wider rim strike of the firing pin work better than those with a narrow firing pin strike area on the Federal stuff. My Rossi 511 sportsman revolver NEVER misfires the Federal stuff, 10-22 does, Ramline exactor does, Remington bolt rifle doesn't, Mossberg 152 doesn't, NAA mini doesn't etc, etc. YMMV

I tried a High Standard semi-auto pistol and a Browning BL22... both hated it. I guess I'll try some other guns.

My Smith 63 .22 hates Winchester bulk ammo. Remington bulk is a bit better, but still produces a lot of failures.
As for centerfire ammo, I think I've had only one failure with cheap .38 spl reloads.
