Has anyone tried Rainer bullets in their revolvers in 38 special and 357 magnum? This are hollowpoints I am talking about. I called the mastercast bullet company and they said they remanufacture ammo with rainer bullets. Are this bullets good for self defense?

Yup. Keep them below 1200 fps and they'll work fine. Decent accuracy, but not as good as lead for me. I tried the 125 grain hollowpoints. I'd say I'd buy them again.
As far as self defense, I am not sure. I think that there are better options out there for a SD bullet.

I would use factory loads for self defense personally, but for the range, competition, etc., Raniers work well. I have shot 1000's of them through my 625 and their performance is quite good.
