Kicked off Democraticunderground for the 9th time

My wolf-in-sheep's-clothing act gets better every time out, but invariably I panic some blissninny into alerting the moderators about my non-liberal chakra or something.

Any advice for attempt number 10? My 2A evangelism is needed where it would do the most good.

BTW, I am running out of clever, but not too obvious, liberal double entendre screen names. Suggestions appreciated here too.

From their forum rules:
WHO IS WELCOME ON DEMOCRATIC UNDERGROUND, AND WHO IS NOT
We welcome Democrats of all stripes, along with other progressives who will work with us to achieve our shared goals.

This is a "big tent" message board. We welcome a wide range of progressive opinion. You will likely encounter many points of view here that you disagree with.

We ban conservative disruptors who are opposed to the broad goals of this website. If you think overall that George W. Bush is doing a swell job, or if you wish to see Republicans win, or if you are generally supportive of conservative ideals, please do not register to post, as you will likely be banned.

If you have been banned from Democratic Underground, you are not permitted to log on again using a different username. Previously banned members will be immediately banned, regardless of behavior.

People who repeatedly and willfully break the rules, or who generally engage in rude, antisocial behavior, will be banned. It doesn't matter if you are a progressive or a long-term member of this board.

WOW!!!!

They're terrified of debate...that's so funny...makes me feel good.

I first heard about DU here and have since checked in once in a while for laughs. I've got say though, that I'm not sure anyone on that site is for real. After reading the silly things they say and their mutual foaming-at-the-mouth origies, I find it very hard believe that there can be that many complete fools alive. It just can't be serious...can it?

http://www.millionmommarch.org/images/mam/julie_levi.jpg
Julie Levi of Long Island, New York, creates promotional items as a living and became mom number three of the Million Mom March when she was recruited by Donna Dees Thomases and Amy Putnam (logo mom) to make tee-shirts for the event. Like them, she is a mother who was extremely upset about the gun violence in this country and was looking for a way to channel that frustration. For the march, she provided over 30 thousand individually sold tee-shirts to moms across the country to wear into the offices of their elected officials. All of the profits raised from this effort — over $250,000 — went back to the organization. There was a saying that nothing could ruin a crooked politician's day more than a knock on the door from 60 Minutes. Now it's the moms in the tee-shirts who strike fear into their hearts. Thanks, Julie!

Reading that message board is like watching a political debate between semi-literate 4-year-olds. Even their spelling and grammar are progressive. I'm not sure what the point of posting in the pool of insanity is. I could post a question about Clinton's favorite underwear and get a four page reply about child labor laws in Indonesia.

What is amazing is how we openly invite these people to come over here, but none of them seem to make it past the the first post.

I know very little about DU, the rules outlined above would make it a forum I would never choose to post on. I have done my fair share of posting opposition arguments on forums in the past but that is usually against Nazi's. I kind of feel like I should defend the British on this one, and this is a good forum in many ways and certainly not Nazi.

There is as much partisan intransigence here as there was on the one DU thread I have read. Sticks in own eye before logs in anothers as a certain man once said.

MicroBalrog

St. Johns. - I agree with you, but a few caveats apply:

1. Most American people gun people dislike "liberals", not because they're hateful, but because most "liberals" really, and I mean really dislike gun people, and have been responsible for some of the stupidest gun laws in the history of this country.

2. You would note that a large amount of liberals frequents The High Road, and we even have some incredibly anti-gun people here *cough* Agricola *cough*, we don't ban or flame people based on their opinion, unlike the people on DU.

3.I'm a liberal.

4.I used to post a lot on DU. I never trolled or flamed anybody, in fact, I fit in with the official rules of DU perfectly.

Iain
July 29, 2003, 01:02 PM
I don't disagree in any way MicroBalrog, but it is too easy for people to tar all ''liberals'' with the same brush.

I don't know what I think about gun control, partly why I am here. I do know what I think about needlessly partisan arguments though. I wouldn't post on DU for precisely that reason.

This thread is about trolling DU.

Duncan Idaho

There is as much partisan intransigence here as there was on the one DU thread I have read.Yes, there is, but at least we don't have to hide "underground" from the light of day. Our ideas can be debated in the open, and still remain rock solid. No need for a Million Momalla March, or giant puppets, or "Fight The Power! U.S. Out Of North America!" slogans, or any other self-loathing hey-hey ho-ho crap.

Demorats have had that problem for a very long time now. They would dearly love to have their socialist :cuss: utopia, but they know they must make their way through the intransigent partisans to get there. Hence all of the incremental gun grabbing. Armed citizens are a tough nut to crack don't you know?

A) The Demoratic party is anti-gun.

B) That there happens - from time to time - to be a pro-gun Demorat, is immaterial.

C) The reason has to do with how we organize/run our legislatures.

I'll let you fill in the blanks.

Maybe the tack to take (nautical, eh?) is a more extreme left rant.
Something so blatantly and specifically pro-communist that the D.U.ers either
reflexively jerk back to the right, or they take the bait and get sucked
into a whirlpool of substance-destitute Marxian thought. A guaranteed
laff-riot !

There were a couple times I posted quotes from D.U.ers on TFL that I found to
be hilarious references to rkba (D.U.ers: "but the right has all the guns -
how will our side win a civil war?"; me: "hey, some of them finally get it")
and I only figured out later that those D.U.ers were probably some of us acting
as disruptors, which I found even funnier. The disruptors who saw my
comments on TFL must have been howling with laughter. :D

Of course, the ultimate laugh was the hacker who hacked D.U. right
after the 2002 elections so that when anything on the site was clicked on, a
message popped up "all your senate are belong to us".

I've been banned from DU a couple of times, it just shows that they're afraid of information that will disprove their little world of make believe where socialism actually does work, as opposed to the spectacular failure it's been where ever it's tried in reality.

It just shows how insecure they are. I remember a quote, something about the insecure building walls and the confident tearing them down. Does anyone know the proper quote? There might be a few people you can wake up a wee bit, but most of them are so far gone it's not funny. I think that going after fence sitters is a beter application of our resources.

We, at THR, do not ban socialists or any other group with silly beleifs as long as they're polite, after ll, we do need someone to beat on.

Speaking of which, hey Micro, c'mon, start a thread about your more liberal points of view so that we may debate it:) We did education and freedom won out there, what else can we discuss:neener:

It's amazing how little tolerance for differing opinion they have over there. If someone comes over here and says there a liberal who doesn't like guns, we try to educate them and change their minds, we don't kick them off. I guess thats because we have the luxury of knowing we're right.:D

If you really have a sadistic streak deep in you, staying a "member" is worth it since they have closed the board off to non-members for a week to a month after the last three elections.

Rush said Liberals are the most fun when they are out of power. He's right. They seem to get wackier with every election they lose ground on. They still don't get it that it might just be their ideas that are off target and how they execute them.

Oh, the weeping, wailing and gnashing fo teeth after each election is awesome to behold!

Instead of accepting that a majority of American's are tired of having their country and rights trampled by "progressive" spokespeople like Streisand, Sarandon, Kucinich, Dean et al. they have decided each election they lose is either a big mistake or a secret Bush cover up.

They have accused every state in the union of cheating on elections, even the Democratic controlled ones, and the Bush secret cabal of killing Democratic candidates like Wellstone, Carnahan and other candidates that "they were really afraid of" with carefully engineered plane crashes that are so good they look like real accidents. (How's that for logic? It's such a good cover up that you can never prove it's a cover up, therefore it must be true) They ran out of tingfoil there a long time ago I guess.

What was the line in Conan? "What is best in this world? To crush your enemies and hear the lamentations of their women as they scatter before you".

Maybe we could help those poor souls over there with an intervention, then point them in the riht path with this......

Overcoming Liberalism: A 12-Step Program

The Program:

Step 1: Admitting that you’re a liberal

This is the first step for every liberal on the way to recovery. It is important to understand that you’re not “progressive,” “moderate,” or “enlightened.” You’re a liberal, and you need to be honest with yourself about that fact.

Step 2: Pledge to support your beliefs with facts

Realize that truth is more important than moral superiority and is the only way to come over to reality. You must research beyond propaganda from the Sierra Club, Hillary Clinton, and CNN (the Communist News Network) to understand things as they really exist in the world. You can no longer argue based on “feelings” or emotion. You will actually need to back up your arguments with real information. This is a difficult step, because it means you can’t be lazy any more.

Step 3: Love America

This may be the most difficult step for those of you who are hippies and peaceniks. Admitting that the country you hate actually stands as a beacon to defend freedom throughout the world can make some of you physically ill. You might want to make a visit to a military cemetery to better understand that these men and women gave their lives so that you could spew hatred. Otherwise, you would currently be living in a police state that would never let you wear that nasty patchouli oil, let alone speak out against your government.

Step 4: Take a college level economics class

I’ve always defined a Socialist as someone who’s never taken an economics class. Most Socialists I’ve spoke with would have a hard time balancing their checkbooks, let alone explaining the simple concept of supply-and-demand. It’s time to flush your complete ignorance of basic economics down the toilet and understand how the world actually functions. This concept will be very important for the next steps that involve communism, facts about corporations, and the inefficiencies of government.

Step 5: Say “no” to Communism and Socialism

While this concept is obvious to most of the free world, it is an important step in your recovery process. If you have difficulty with this step, spend a week living and working in Cuba.

Step 6: Corporations are not evil

If you’re reading this article online or in an e-mail, it’s thanks to corporations. If you get some kind of paycheck, you can thank corporations. If you work for a non-profit or the government, you still have to thank corporations. The non-profit sector and the government wouldn’t have any money to pay you without corporations. It is also important that you understand that making a profit doesn’t equate to “greed” or exploitation. Capitalism has created the greatest society in our world’s history. Even communist countries need corporations to survive, so enjoy a nice, hot cup of reality.

Step 7: The government is inefficient

If you are one of those liberals who believe the government should tax us more in order to take care of society, you need to pay special attention to this step. You need to realize that government bureaucracy will waste most of your tax dollars, while the private sector will put your money to much better use. Even most Democrat politicians understand this to some degree, which is why Hillary’s socialist healthcare proposal was voted down by a majority of both Democrats and Republicans. Go to your local post office or call the IRS to ask a tax question if you need a reminder about government inefficiency.

Step 8: The earth is not your “mother,” and she’s not dying

The time has now come to stop your donations to Greenpeace, The Sierra Club, and every other EnviroNazi organization to which you belong. Face the reality that the earth, society, and our environment are better off today than ever in recorded history and that they are continuing to improve. I realize that many of you tree huggers will have a very difficult time letting go of the Douglas Fir on this one. I would suggest reading The Skeptical Environmentalist by Bjorn Lomborg. Mr. Lomborg is a former member of Greenpeace and is currently a statistics professor at a university in Denmark. He set out to prove the world was in bad shape and ended up surprising himself by proving the exact opposite.

Step 9: Stop smoking the wacky tobaccy

Okay, some of you might need to enter another 12-step program to complete this step. Marijuana is distorting your sense of reality, and you need to stop using it. Besides, you’ll save a fortune on snacks.

Step 10: Eat a hamburger

If God didn’t intend for us to eat animals, he wouldn’t have made them out of meat. You can put your sprouts and tofu on the hamburger, but get some meat into you. You’ll look and feel better than you ever imagined. You can always remind yourself that Adolf Hitler was a vegetarian to get you through this step.

Step 11: Stop re-writing political history

It’s now time to admit that Bill Clinton is a lying-cheating-sexist-racist-rapist jackass, Hillary Clinton is one of the worst role models for women in this country, Al Gore really did lose the 2000 election by every vote tabulation you attempt, Ronald Reagan ended the Cold War and didn’t create the homeless problem, John McCain is not a typical Republican, and Jimmy Carter is a nice man but has one of the worst presidential records of anyone in history.

Step 12: Be a missionary

Once you have completed the previous steps to overcoming liberalism, it’s time for you to share this awakening with others who are not as fortunate. Go out amongst the liberal sheep and spread the good word of your freedom from the chains of ignorance that once bound you. Congratulations, and welcome to reality.

Jeremy Robb

You're talking about going in under multiple screen names, and being dishonest about your views in order not to get banned.

Seems pretty silly to deny this is trolling.

Kudos to the person who pointed this out before me, and let me say that it seems pretty sheeplike that everyone else ignored how ridiculous your denial was.

Not me. I'm a liberal, I'm perfectly honest about my views.

I don't either. Honesty leads to a better discussion.

I was talking about the others, who talk of hiding their views.

I am not worthy. I've never even been able to bring myself to register there--the nausea thing you know.

Did you post messages about the Israel/Palestinian conflict at DU?

AEI: No, I generally preferred J/PS.
I believe that the big problem with conflict is NOT "how much territory should belong to who". The big problem is stopping the cycle of hatred and vengeance. But those are words. The practical solution is beyond me.:(

I will use my very first post here at thehighroad to thank DU.
They do some great advertising!
It was through them that I found this place.
I've been posting there for a while - greater than 200 posts.
I absolutely love to f... with MrBELCHLY, "shooting" holes through his arguments is a blast.
I've seen thehighroad mentioned several times, but did not understand what it was, I just wrote it off as more ranting vomit.
I am a die hard conservative NEOCOMMIE bastard according to DU mentality, but I still believe that if I convert even one of them I will have acomplished something.
I hope to gain even more RKBA ammo here to use over there.
I will keep everyone updated as to my progress with the Dumb Usses, and hopefully if I maintain the same charade I will be implanting truths into their threads on behalf of all RKBA people!

Micro, I wonder if you'll still have the same "liberal" views after a few years of service in the IDF.. ;)
