I have been thinking about getting one. However there are not that many that are available in my town so if I do get one it is going to have to be by luck right now. In the mean time can you show a pic or 2 and let me know how you like it?
-Thanks, Anthony

I have a 28" walnut field version:

AND a 930 SPX:

I have close to 14,000 rounds through the two guns, I have never had a single fail to feed, fire or eject...

Mossberg 930 SPX with AimpointML2 with QR mount. I switch back and forth between the GRS and the Aimpoint ML2. I have since removed the tri-Rail mount and flashlight because it is a pain to remove the mount every time I break down the shotgun for cleaning. The fore end has been shortened and beveled around the receiver.

The 930 spx looks like a great gun and the price is great! Has anyone else seen the resemblance to the FN Auto Loading Police Shotgun? It looks likes the same shotgun.

It was put out to complete with the FN SLP. The 930 has a different gas system.

Where does one find a 930 SPX? Seems impossible.

They are available now. Mossberg just sent some out. Check around you should be able to come up with one. Some of the big chain stores have them and gun shops.

Is anyone making replacement stocks for the 930? I'm just not a big fan of the tacticool black on them.

Thanks

Is it as soft-shooting as the FN, or is the rate of fire as fast? For the price, that looks like a great shotgun. :)

Dicks Sporting Goods stocks them if there is one around there. I got to handle one but the boss has other priorities. :banghead:

I have not shot an FN SLP to compare it to but I have shot a Winchester SX-1, which is similar to the gas system on the FN. They are very similar in terms of recoil, the 930's are a very soft shooting gun.

As far as rate of fire, I haven't been able to "outrun" the trigger on mine. I can shoot all 8 shells in under just 2 seconds, I'm sure a "professional shooter", like Patrick Flanigan or Tom Knapp, could go even faster... (But of course, they're not getting paid to, so.....) It's a LOT of fun at the range and it definitely draws a crowd when shooting it rapid fire....

Choate Machine is making a full stock with a pistol grip, but it will probably be black...

If you want a wood stock, give Mossberg a call, they sell all of the parts, so, I'm guessing they would sell you a walnut stock if you wanted one...

Thanks Smitty - I guess if they become fairly popular we will see the aftermarket guys come in with laminate or camo or whatever, I just haven't seen anything out there like that.
