Hey,
I am going to be driving from Flagstaff home to North Carolina this summer and was thinking of doing some first-time hog-hunting on the way home. Since I have a friend in Arkansas whose also interested, I thought that would be the place to do it. But I could would also consider other options within 100-150 miles of Interstate 40 in Oklahoma, or northern Mississippi, Alabama, or Georgia.
Can anyone recommend some decent lodges in those areas where the hunting is good and the prices fair?
Thanks!
Bear

Bear, I am a member on a lease that an Outfitter uses, 1hr from Amarillo (I-40). I don't know the price on pigs, but there are 10 sections of land to hunt and several members often "bring home the bacon" :) The lease is 10 miles south of Clarendon, Tx and there are several small motels there (as I don't really know how the outfitter lodges their clients) They are pretty proud of the deer at $2500 for a 4 day hunt, but there was an outdoor show that highlighted the place a few years ago.
If you are interested, give me a PM and I will try to find out more.

Try these folks, I know them very well, both the owners and the guides. They have been featured on ESPN a couple of times, and I have sent several folks I know to them and they have ALWAYS went back again. There are a lot of big hogs around on their land and again most folks that go take home something big. They are also pretty close to NC. Only a couple of miles off I-40 exit 311 in Cumberland County TN (about 1/2 way between Knoxville and Nashville). If you go ask for Johnny or Andy for guides. They will take real good care of you. They do a lot of different hunts including exotics, but hog hunts are their specialty. (Also I know the lady that cooks and she can really cook! You will gain weight just smelling the food!)

Thanks fellas for the information. A little bit of Googling has revealed several more options. The Caryonah Lodge might even be doable as a weekend trip from North Carolina.
