I got a bad batch (5000) of Win Large Pistol primers at the last gun show. I have had about ten fail so far. It takes a second strike to ignite them. By no means are these light strikes. This had never happened so far.
On the Winchester website there is no mention of any 800# for consumers to call. I will write a letter but would like a quicker response. If anyone has delt with this and has a good contact number please let me know.
Thanks

Last year I had some bad Winchester 38spl brass and I went looking for a contact number. IIRC, I googled it and got this: (618) 258-2000.Same number should work for primers too, as they're listed as "Olin, East Alton, IL" on my WW primer boxes.

The first question they're going to ask you is if you seated the primers below flush, and if so, how far. Ideally, those seated primers should be .005" below flush, but in no case should they be above the level of the base of the case.
They will also probably ask you if the gun has been worked on, or the hammer spring lightened.
Just something you might check before you call Winchester.
Hope this helps.

Called them today. Only one girl there answering. She was pretty busy, rushed me through the call and told me to UPS them the remaining primers along with three live handloaded rounds. I should be receiving a UPS label in a couple of days.
Thanks for the number Black T. I will let you know what happens.
