Who makes dies which can crimp .38 S&W cases or shorter. I need to make up some custom blanks from shortened .38 spl cases with about 8-9 grains of bullseye. I don’t want to use cardboard wads or anything similar, but want professional star crimps like you see with factory blanks.

And if you guys are wondering , yes I have done a search. It returned plenty of good information, but nothing on who makes the dies I need.

Thanks, Dan

No. 044090 in the book. That's a Micro-Adjust bullet seating stem in my Hornady book.

It has nothing to do with star-crimping blanks!

You might want to try Bullseye blanks first with just over-powder wads before investing in a die.

I would be very surprised if you can get the desired results with Bullseye.
It's fast, but nowhere near as fast as real blank powder.

That’s what I’m looking for. Thanks for the links.

rcmodel: I'll probably give that a try first. These are to launch 40mm rounds form the hi-lo pressure M203 grenade launcher. Most people seem to get best results form bulseye pistol powder.

Thanks, Dan

So what was the outcome? Was a crimp necessary for the projectiles after all?
