Troops buying there own optics in Iraq?

I've heard several people say that the troops over there have been buying their own ACOGs because the Military doesn't have enough of them. Can anyone confirm this?

I'm hoping that when our troops come home there will be a new market of used ACOGs floating around.:)

I haven't seen an M14 without and ACOG. I'm really hoping for a market of used ones when this stuff blows over.
