It's SIGalicious...

OK, here's the obligatory "Spiffy new P228" thread.

I recently rediscovered my affinity for SIGs, and added the specimen below to the stable yesterday. The finish is a little scuffed, but it came with Trijicons and a 13-round preban magazine. It's a KD (1993)-coded P228.

I've owned a bunch of SIGs, but never a P228. I always thought that the P228 is more desirable than the similar-sized P229. The milled-slide P229 is just a bit more top-heavy than the P228, and the P228 is a lot more difficult to come by these days. It'll make a spiffy winter carry gun to complement my P232 and the HK P7M8.

I must admit that I'd really like to have one of those. It'd make a nice companion to my P225.

I think the finish wear is actually attractive, now that I have another look at it.

Real CCW guns have finish wear. ;)

May it serve you well!

(Don't forget that it has K-Cote!)

I absolutely love my 228 and wouldn't ever part with it.
It's one of the most balanced, accurate nines I have ever shot.
And the grip, and trigger reach are wonderful.

no more USP?

He traded that away a long time back.

He traded it to me for a Springfield 1911 that had originally been his.
I kept the USP for all of about three days, then traded it to another friend for a P-232.
I traded the P-232 to Marko for a Detonics Mark I.
I then traded the P-228 to Marko for the same 1911 that he'd originally swapped the USP to me for.

Tune in next week for the next installments of Guns Of Our Lives and As The Collection Turns... :D

If i ever decided that i wanted another pistol that wasn't a BHP or a 1911, i'd get a 228, or a 220. Those are sweet.

I hope you enjoy your P228 anywhere near as much as I have enjoyed mine! I would not part with it for any amount of $$$

Sounds like a firearms-friendly version of Peyton Place.

I have a buddy of mine that has a sig with unique "finish wear"

Seems he had a Great Dane that liked the sig more than he did, and chewed on only the steel slide, left bite marks all over the thing, then he had it between the mattress and box, on his waterbed when said GD decided to see how much water it could splii out of the bed...

The Sig has really nice rust colored bite marks now.

It's truely one of a kind! I offered to buy it from him, so I could have this special gun, but he wouldn't have it...said it was sentimental to him.

Like I said on the sigforum, the 228 is the best compact 9mm ever made. I love my nickel slide, dao 228. :)
