I just got from a friend a Remington model 721 30-06 and it doesn't have a scope on it now.It doesn't have a rail even for the scope to mount but he told me i can buy something to mount a scope. I see 2 spots "before and after the bolt" where i could mount something but i have no idea where or what i need to install a rail ..Anyone know where i mite see a picture online .Or to tell the truth i would like to just order one online.Thanks for any info and sorry if this is sorta stupid of a question I'm just not real familiar with this type of setup.I tryed to take some pics with the digital camera but the lighting in my house wont let the picture come out rite..I could take it outside tomorrow if needed and take pics

Leupold rings and bases are available from cabelas for $19.99 each.
The website is easy to follow just look under hunting/optics, then under Remington mod. 721.

Pretty sure bases for the Model 700----will also fit the 721. At--least 2-piece bases---1-piece it would matter as to short or long action----but will still fit as long you got the right one.

I bought my Remington 721 .30-06 50 years ago. It has a Redfield base mounted on top that has been there since Day One. The Redfield looks almost identical to the Leupold one-piece base and is rock-solid.
