Is this tool worth the $25 investment? I think I understand how it works; is there any advantage to this over the traditional brass brush & a good solvent?

I've used the Lewis Lead Remover since shooting on my department's pistol team in the mid 1970's, shooting PPC. I still use them today for Cowboy Action Shooting, and between my wife and I, there are four revolvers and two lever action rifles to clean lead out of. The LLR is the best I've found for this chore, and does an excellent job. There is also no other way I know of to clean lead deposits from the forcing cone of a revolver. I have them in .38, .41, .44 and .45, and consider them essential to maintaining firearms that only shoot lead bullets.

Hope this helps.

If you shoot reloaded ammo, especially some of the "hot stuff", it is the best tool you'll ever use. Mine is probably 20 years old and still going strong and as Reloader Fred pointed out - nothing else gets the job done on forcing cones.

Note to mods:

Thanks for moving to the more appropriate area. I put it under "Reloading" initially because I reload lead bullets. Thought it fit there...my bad.

Thanks, though, for keeping me on the straight & narrow High Road!!!
