Looking to upgrade a Mag Lite

I currently have a 4-cell Maglite. It has served me well & if I don't find a suitable upgrade, I'll be happy w/ a fresh set of D cells. So, who makes a suitable replacement for less than $100 (alot less if possible)?

Surefire! Get in on the group buy we've got going with G&R in this forum.
Seriously, I was in the, Pay WHAT for a light??? camp until I tried the Surefire. Much handier and brighter than a Maglight.

If you want a substitute, get a Surefire e2e. It costs less than $100, is at least as powerful as the full size mag lights, has no "dead spot", and is the size of a mini-Mag light.
If you want to upgrade, go the the M2 or the M3 (or one of the equivalent & cheaper surefire models).

I've got a G2 already & really like the beam quality. What I like about the Mag lite is that I can use it as an impact weapon & I'd like to keep that ability w/ the new light.

fatboyclone,
By "dead spot", I'm referring to the less illumined areas typically created by flashlights, especially those which focus (like Maglites). The Surefire's don't have that problem, which means that nothing in the beam (at a given distance) is noticably less illumined than anything else.
10-ring,
If you want a full sized club type flashlight (;) ), then you don't want a Surefire. Even their biggest flashlights are not very good clubs....

Surefire. They're worth it. Maglites are completely useless. Completely. Not even useful as weapons. I know, been there.

If you want an impact weapon, get an impact weapon. (ASP, etc...) If you want a light, get a Surefire. Don't try to compromise, you'll end up with something that doesn't work well in either role.

Go with Surefire! Ya don't want to mix up your 'force options', using a Maglite as an impact weapon will only get ya into hot water somewhere down the line.
Besides, after you blind the crap out of them with an M4, ya won't need to hit em'!:what:

If you want an impact weapon, get an impact weapon
As I understand the law, I can't have a true impact weapon. A flashlight w/ the size & weight of my Mag lite is ideal since it performs a primary duty as a light.
