I did the trigger job on one of my AR's and had mis-fires galore with surplus ammo(South Africian).
I went back and replaced the hammer spring with a new one and the mis-fires went away.

I did that to my Bushy, and it worked great. The only ammo that didn't like it was Guatemalan ammo because of the hard primers. Don't cut the hammer spring down as much as they say, leave a little more and that should take care of a hard primer problem. Brownell's make lighter spring set for them.

Why would anyone want an AR that won't shoot mil-spec ammo?
If you want a better trigger, put a two-stage in it and leave the dang hammer spring alone!
