Just wanting to do some coyote hunting here pretty soon, and wondering if they will come into a pasture that has short grass like a lawn. I have other fields I can go to that are higher, but would rather stay on my own land. I will be using an electric caller.

yes, but of course they want some cover so you may not get a whole lot of action. you'll want to watch fencelines because that is what they'll use to come in.
before you get into the field, look it over real well w/ your binocs to make sure one isn't already laying out there sunning itself.

This time of year when yotes are looking for dates, they can appear anywhere. I'd recommend howling.

They're varmints, toss out some rotting meat by your caller for an easy shoot. Couple hundred yards, time to zero the rifle for your squatting spots at 200 yards plus if you ask me. Also, I'd have about 3 or 4 different squatting spots to mix it up.
Wiley buggers, at 200 they'll see you coming. At 200 while your waiting/calling, probably not. Coyotes will come from 1/2 mile or more when your squatted and still. They can see quite a bit further than I can.
As a hunting partner once said. "The flick of a rabbit's ear is their busines, glint off a barrel and ungloved hands are easy spots for them...hold damn still.

I had one spot me in a stand deer hunting from 15yds when i turned my head. Looked straight up at me and was gone.I also notice they dont wait around to figure an object out like a deer sometimes will.

There's a REAL good article in the last issue of Predator Xtreme that covers set-ups. You also should look at The Coyote Gods website.
