That was a good read, here is another... .38 Especial article. (http://gunblast.com/Doran-Outgunned.htm) Enjoy!
edit: it is more about the platform than the round but still the two articles complement each other.

Warren- another good read and I just got started. Nothing more comforting than a .38 snubbie in your pocket.

I have a 38 snub in the queue. I look forward to shooting as much 38 as I can.

I'm a sucker for the Model 10. For such a fine arm that everyone thinks is plain and everyday, it's a beautiful piece of craftsmanship.
My uncle wore a Model 66 during his years as one of the Thin Blue Line. At first, I thought him "undergunned" because the barrel read Magnum while the chambers were filled with Specials. The marvellous track record of the Chicago load, however, was enlightening. I'll love the .38 to the end of my days.

This thread made me curious about how much I like the .38 Special cartridge and the guns that shoot it so I went and counted. I currently have 17 revolvers in .38 Special. I must like it a lot. :)

While I don't consider the .38 Special revolver as a handgun I would often choose to entrust my life to, the .38 Special is still something of a cornerstone, for me. I shoot as many .38 Special rounds as I do all other pistol rounds put together. I often can be found at the range with nothing but a S&W revolver and several hundred .38s of various loading.
For walking the woods and keeping myself comfy while out in the campsite or fishing, a stoutly loaded .38 Special 158 grain LSWC can be the cats meow.
