Knife Shopping

Every so often, I cruise eBay to see what's out there.

Today, I stumbled on this:
RARE Large Camillus Lockback Pocket Knife w/ Sheath MIB (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360017098843&ih=023&category=63793&ssPageName=WDVW&rd=1)

There's about 3 hours left on that auction.

It compares favorably with the Buck 110 Folding Hunter, but is (far as I know) long out of production. The current auction price of $34 is well below the actual worth of the knife. If it rolled off the production line today, $40 to $50 would be a fair retail price, classed with the Buck.

Camillus has always made good stuff.

Sadly, I can't get it myself right now, so I figured I'd mention it here and give any interested THR guys a shot.

Oh, additionally . . .

There's also a Case XX Hammerhead (same size class) out there in the same price range, also closing in about 3 hours. You can see it here (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290200004798&ih=019&category=48819&ssPageName=WDVW&rd=1). Of course it's not all rare and stuff, but it is US-made and a very serviceable hunting knife.

I have all the hunting knifes I'm ever likely to need. Or that my kids and their kids are ever likely to need. A little later on today, I'll post some pics of the fistful of Buck knives that I got signed yesterday. Yeah, signed. By Chuck Buck and C.J. Buck.

No, I'm not a knife junkie. I can quit any time I want. Really.

Camillus closed it's doors not long ago so their stuff will take on collector significance.
New in box? Go for it!

I surf ebay periodically also. Drooled over a particular knives of alaska blade for a while, but didn't want to spend the cash. Surfed the KOA site the other day, and found they went up $40-$50 on many models, including the denali I wanted. Went to ebay and found several still at the old prices which now seemed like a bargain. Jumped on it.

A little high for someone looking to actually work the knife.

But a bargain at that price for anyone collecting.
