Switching safety on CZ75?

Is it possible to change the safety on a CZ75 so that it is set up for a left-handed shooter?
Or can an ambidextrous safety be installed on a CZ75?
(Yes, I know that the CZ85 has an ambi safety, but you can't get a compact version of that pistol.)

The "Standard CZ75B Compact" is the same exact frame/trigger/safety group as the 85, so the ambi safety will drop right in. I wish it were as simple as a 1911 but its not. If you send the gun to Mike @ CZUSA he can do it very very easily....or have a good "CZ" gun smith do it.
CZUSA will have the parts in stock also...............

That's not quite true, IIRC.
If you remove the safety lever from a CZ 75, you have to contend with that little sliding detent thingy in the side of the frame, as well as the tiny spring that works it. The 85 has one of these on the right side of the frame as well. I haven't detail stripped one of these for a few months, but I recall observing that it wouldn't be possible to just drop an 85 safety assembly into a 75 frame.
I could be wrong though.

You could purchase a CZ75-SA. They have an ambi safety.
Nevermind. You want a compact.

Youre correct you could be wrong..but your not :D
The detent is very minor and is just a drill press away....
Internally the gun will take the ambi safety just like the single side only model......
Shoot well

So basically, I could call up CZ USA and have them do a custom install of an ambi safety on a compact, and then have them ship it to my favorite neighborhood FFL?

Yep....exactly. You may have to have you FFL call them first just to verify the purchase will go as planned but thats it.
Shoot well...
