I am having another night of insomnia and was burning some silicon. I thought I would download google earth just to check it out. The first thing I looked for was my house. Then I had the thought to check out where I want to go bear hunting. Man this is great. It's like having my own satellite to take picture of the place so I can pick my spot. And you can change it so you can see the contour of the terrain. It is so cool I can't believe I can get all this information.

If you hunt you have got to check this out. DO a google search for google earth and it will point you where you can download it from. You'll love it. Now I just need to find out how to use GPS coordinates with it.

Hit control + alt + a in the newer version of Google Earth and you get a cool flight simulator that is a hidden feature. You can find the controls easily with a simple google search.

Google Earth rocks. Started using it last year to plan trips on Lake Monroe and find entry/exit points for the streams/rivers around here. Sometimes the pictures are out of date and you'll find buildings where it didn't show any but it's still cool to get an overview of the terrain and features.
