got a chance to pick up a new one through a VIP program with my current employer for 285 bucks whch i think i a great deal. but im afrain I will be dissapointed. if you have one does it seem to suffer from the same plague as most other hig power scopes under 1200 bucks. does it get foggyat high magnification. I want one that i can crank to 24X and still see clearly. if this will do that at this price it is a steal

I have one on my .224 TTH and it has performed very well. I shoot two Antelope , both at over 400 yds with no problems. At that price I would put one on all my rifle's!

Damn thats a great deal! Can you hook me up? :D

I bought the 4200 6-24x40 with the side obj focus, paid $570, and it has been wonderfull for the price. I was able to hit an apple from 210+ yards away with 1 shot. Looking through my 4200 and then a friend's $1200 12x40 schmieth & bender (spelling), I could tell a bit of difference in quality at 210+ yards. At the 300 yard range, i can still spot the 30 cal holes i punch in paper with my 20/20 vision. Still good clarity IMO. I have yet to look through at 600 yards but i bet it will still do an ok job.

I just paid $400/shipped for the same scope, and that was a very good deal (they retail for $530 at OpticsPlanet.com). So, if you don't like it, put it on Ebay and get $350 back for it at least.

I got mine today and while I haven't mounted it, it looks very clear and the mil-dot reticule is very nice.

But at $275, you should buy that scope - two of them if you can.

I have the 4-16x and I love it. If you get the duplex crosshair and don't like the scope, I'll probly give you your money back for it.

I have that scope. It's fantastic. It is clear even at 24x.

I mounted mine on an H&R M12 and shot a wasp at 50 yards.

I have the Elite 4200 6 - 24X 40mm scope with the parallax adjustment on the front objective, mounted on a Cooper .223. So far this has been used for target shooting and load development with great results. I have been able to shoot .250 - .400" groups repeatedly at 100 yards with handloads. All shooting has been at 24X. The scope is very clear and bright. I paid about $415, so if you are able to buy it for $285, go for it.

I understand that there is also a model with a side parallax adjustment, but this model is more expensive.
