How is the Dakota Defender? Does an all leather holster lose retention after a year or 2? Any comparison between it and the MTAC?

Also, any other holster suggestions for an IWB which has the clips/belt loops set wide like the Defender? I am reluctant to undertake the wait for a VMII. Under $100 would be nice, but not required.

Thanks.

I haven't got any experience with the Dakota, but I'm very happy with my Canutes from Nate at UBG. The quality is excellent, the price reasonable, and he delivers in about a month.

Looks like some really nice designs. Great prices too. Thanks for the recommendation!

I have the Cochise Defender, and I have had it for a couple years now. I bought it before Keven had even designed the Dakota. The fit is every bit as secure as when I bought it. The workmanship is fantastic. The details are even, the edging is smooth, and it fits the gun like the proverbial glove. K&D has great customer service, too... I had just received the holster and was adjusting the clips, trying for the best fit, and I lost one of the screws (black screw on a black carpet - duh!) I called to K&D and they sent me out two new screws for free. You just can't beat "free". The only downside (for me) is that my Cochise is not as comfortable for long-term wear as I thought it would be - the Dakota looks like a much better product. If I had to do it over again, I'd have no qualms about ordering the Dakota.
