Ok so I remember asking this question once before but in the movie mr and mrs smith brad takes out a stainless gun from his house and looks like he snaps a silencer on it not twists it on, anyway has anyone ever said what gun that actually is? cause I really want to get one for a carry gun and well it looks awesome. I wouldnt use the silencer however. So do you know where to find this gun then have it modified like this one or what? thanks

I don't recall the make of that 1911 but any stainless 1911 will look identical. All the major manufacturers produce stainless 1911s. Personally I'd go with a Springfield or a Kimber, in that order, before a Colt.

You want one modified to use a suppressor but you're not going to use the suppressor?

Me not get.

I remembered it as an older Colt Government XSE (GI sights and thumb safety) with Carbon Creation grips and Brown/Wilson style magwell.

Who can fit a threaded barrel to a 1911?

Uh... any gunsmith worth even speaking to.

Don't forget to talk to the ATF about the suppressor thingy. And also check your state laws and regulations for restrictions and licensing of "cans" and even threaded barrels in some cases.

As though you have a choice? I would really like to know what states allow for concealed carry of suppressed weapons. :what:

You really should not be depending on the movie prop department for your choices in real guns.

Contact some of the real supressor companies about their "cans" and what type of attachment they use. And whether hanging that much weight on a recoil operated gun's barrel might affect its operation.

OBTW, this is about a 1911, which is an autoloader, we have a forum specifically for autoloading handguns.
