The 1903A3, P17, K98 and Krag have all shot does. Sorting through a few more rifles. I've got an un-blooded K31, a Chilean 1895 Mauser Carbine that shoots left, and SKS, and a 1891 Argentine Cav Carbine. Might be carrying one of them this weekend for one of the last hunts of the year. I can place about five deer still, and we have 28 tags left.

Something is wrong, wrong if you are allowed more than 1 deer per year. That is downright hoggish! Many folks don't even get one tag a year. Something smells funny if you get---what did you say? 28???

East Texas sounds like either private land being managed or some area needing the herd seriously thinned. Either way, is fine with me. In our area it is common to be able to take 5 to 8 deer a year, just from regular hunts, add the draw hunts in and you can easily get into double digits. Now not that many do, but I do know some who have regularly been able to do so. No big deal as long as you are legal.

i've killed 16 does this year...in alabama you can kill 2 does or a buck and a doe every day the whole season except you're limited to 3 bucks for the season as a whole

Northern Missouri can top them all. You can buy unlimited numbers of doe tags in a large portion of that part of the state. We get sick of butchering them.

Here in Maryland out of all the seasons you can take a totall of 36 deer.

10 does and 2 bucks for bow.

10 does and 2 bucks for shotgun no rifles here : (

10 does and 2 bucks for muzzeloader.

ricky....out here in the west, there are more hunters than deer, so we have a lottery draw system, where your damned lucky if you get anything, and then your restricted to one animal per species. :(

Two or three deer supply us with meat for the year.

I don't know what I'll do when all my kids start shooting deer.

Minnesota has been around 7-8 the last few years. I've bagged four deer a year for the last three years....

In Texas, there is a late doe season, and TP&W has a bunch of permit/license/tag thingies for culling excessive doe populations. I had an opportunity to go on a hunt a couple of years ago to do this but passed it up.

28 doe sounds about right.
