I like the gun but prefer a blued or parked finish. Is this a possibility or am I stuck? I got the shotgun in a trade w/ a buddy.

You can do anything you want....as long as you have the time/money/tools;)

Is it the painted on woodland camo or the realtree/mossy oak type coating?
If it's painted on then you can just paint over it with Krylon. Thats what I did to my Moss 500.

If you want a nicer finish then sand blast the gun and refinish with KG Gunkote or Lauer Duracoat.
I'm in the process of Gunkoting my Rem 870.

If it's the realtree/mossy oak type finish...then I'm not sure how you refinish it, but I bet you could scrape it off with something sharp then sand blast and refinish.

One thing to keep in mind. The 835 (and 500) recievers are aluminum. You cannot blue or parkerize them.
Probably the best finish for you will be a spray and bake like the Gunkote or Duracoat.
