Shotgun as truckgun?

Sometimes when I get home I find critters rumaging through my garbage. I would like to keep a shotgun in an overhead rack so I can pop em. My question is it gets really hot here in Louisiana. My question is about the shells. Is there any concern with keeping them in the truck in the heat all day?

I've left shells in a pickup truck in 111 degree weather before. No problems. Simply put, even the 160 degrees that it can reach inside a vehicle is not enough to touch off the powder, although it might not be a bad idea to keep them out of direct sunlight just in case.

The heat won't hurt a thing. I keep my 20 gauge Nova stoked with Walmart specials for the purpose you mentioned. I have a 24' barrel, very light, and handy. Excellent truck gun.
