Hey y'all:
Hope all is well. I am newly registered although have been lurking for a good long while now. I have been lookin to get me a T/C Hawken for starters. Anywho, I wanted to know what the differences are in caps? Like #11s or # 12s and what determines where or what they are used on. I should have done a search, just could not quite figure how to word it. Thanks in adance.
George

There are two common cap sizes, #10 and #11. MOST of the time #10's are for pistols and #11 are for rifles. I say most because different brand caps are different sizes. Try a #11 for your rifle first, and if they are too big, try a 10. You may need to pinch the caps just a bit for a tight fit.

here I go again Dwave, Change your nipples to musket caps and never worry again about misfires (I've read that they are 7 times hotter than 11's) and they are a lot easier handle. Gander montain has them also Basspro and Cabelas. I've even seen them at Walmarts that are near deer hunting areas. The nipples are 1/4-28 US threads.

No problem with that recommendation, I have musket caps on my rifles.
