Paddle Holsters

Who makes a good paddle holster? Leather is preferred, but I am open to all recommendations.

I use a fobus paddle for my M&P and love it.

For the price the Don Hume has a nice leather open top. Won't break the bank... It is a 2 in 1 so it also has loops if you want to wear it on a belt if tired of the paddle.

DeSantis (http://www.desantisholster.com/leather-millennium-nylon-paddle-holsters.html) makes good Paddle holsters and well as other good products. So does Don Hume (http://www.donhume.com/).

I had the good fortune to meet Greg Kramer and got to see him work and check out his shop 15 years ago. He gave me a Kramer paddle holster for my Glock 19 and 15 years later, it still retains my Glock like a champ and has endured daily rigors and wear. This was my first quality holster, and I never looked back.

I have two Kramer paddle holsters (1 in horsehide, the other in cowhide) and both are awesome specimens of what paddle holsters should be. He has a belt loop sewn into the body of the paddle so you can affix it to your belt to make sure the holster stays where it's supposed to when you draw, not be a part of your draw and end up out of your pants.

A few months ago, I bought another one for the Glock 23 3rd generation pistol (the Glock 19 was a 2nd generation and I didn't want to try to force the 23 into it and ruin the mold and grip it has on the 19). Still in the process of breaking it in, but so far, so good. Give his product a shot; you can find them used and reasonably priced on just about any gun forum in existence. I sorely doubt you'll be disappointed.

Uncle Mike's kydex paddles aren't bad at all.

I like just about anything that says GALCO on it, though.

The blackhawk is nice but on alot of guns it will eventually wear some of the finish off the slide... But if its a carry gun then its going to have wear..

Comp Tac makes nice paddle holster, but I think they are all kydex.

This Blackhawk works fairly well but not for all purposes. I wish now I'd gotten the Serpa like chris in va.

I have the blackhawk also. I 'modified' it by cutting the excess length off of the holster itself and I trimmed off the retention tab on the 'inside the pants' part of the paddle. :D Compare to BakerT's

I stuck some mole skin inside my SERPA holster. It was rubbing the finish off my Kimber's slide.

If you happen to frequent the Nation's Gunshow in Chantilly, VA (www.thenationsgunshow.com), there's a guy you should check out. The show is this weekend, BTW. :what: It's Backwoods Leather. His paddle holsters are great. The holsters are compact, very good workmanship, and very durable. He's in Portsmouth, VA and nearly always attends the Chantilly shows. He also hits the Showplace gunshows in Mechanicsville without fail. He will do mail order but doesn't have a website. He's a one man shop and, while I've floated the suggestion that he put together some sort of online site, it doesn't seem to interest him. He moves a good volume as his prices are very reasonable.
