I recently aquired a H&R 922 revolver. It has a very rough polished nickle finish, 6" barrel, and what looks to be yellowish, blackish swirl Bakelite grips. Im not concerned about the value of the pistol but am interested in the number of different rounds that these pistols were chambered in. The cylinder I have for this revolver seems to be .22 Mag because it is almost twice the length of a .22 LR. The only thing stamped on the gun is on the side of the barrel, "H&R922" with no spacing between the R and 9, and the serial # on the butt "R299xx." The problem is, I have found none of these pistols chambered in or even the mention of them being chambered in .22 Mag. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

If it is indeed a magnum cylinder then a magnum cartridge will fit. If it is only a LR cylinder, then the mag cartridge will not fit. Not sure of your particular model, but many of the old H&R wheelies came with mag cylinders.

The H&R 922 is a .22LR gun. A magnum round is too long for that cylinder. It would hit the frame in front.

Per the books and my own recollection, the 922 was never made in any caliber but .22 LR. Some H&R's were made for .22 WMR, but the 922 wasn't one of them.

Pretty much what others have posted; H&R didn't really offer many convertibles or .22Magnum only pistols. Most were either .22LR, .32 S&W, or .38 S&W.

the Model 922 is .22 lr only.
H&R made a bunch of convertible .22 (s, l, lr)/.22mag revolvers: Models 660, 666, 649, 650, 676, 876 - all 6 shot, solid frame, most "Western Style" with right side loading gate and ejector assembly on barrel.
H&R made a few .22 WMRF (mag) revolvers: Models 642, 603, 604, 826.
