Just reading the synopsis makes me want to violently heave:barf:. Paying money to watch it would have made me suicidal.

It was on TV...:fire:

The "good guy" actually said something like this:

"We live in gated communities and see children carrying weapons, because most people haven't even read the Second Amendment"

I've read it, I know what it says...

Hmmmm, haven't heard about this one. Straight to Video/DVD? That would say a lot about it's quality IMO.

Yeah, just reading the synopsis makes me want to bang my head against a wall.

"We live in gated communities and see children carrying weapons, because most people haven't even read the Second Amendment"

I haven't seen the movie, therefore, I may be missing the context of the quote, but to me, it sounds as if he's saying they wouldn't need gated communities if people took advantage of their 2nd Am rights.

No, the "good guy" meant that the SA applied to states and said gun manufacturers were responsible for the death of his daughter.

Like I said, I didn't know the context. :neener:

...there is bomb in the hot dog cart that will detonate when her cell phone runs out.

When they outlaw hotdog stands...only criminals will have hot dog stands.:banghead:

This movie looks like a load of :barf:

I just voted at the Yahoo movie link above and got the viewer's rating lowered from C- to D+. C'mon THR members -- let's get it to a solid "F"!

I cannot believe the hypocrisy of actors (Snipes in particular). Do they not realize that they make a LIVING exercising their 2nd and 1st Amendment rights?

Yes, 'Liberty Stands Still'. Heard about it from a friend. Probably the same level of engaging social commentary as the HBO movie 'Strapped' (selling firearms from lenient states aka Georgia and via bad FFLers, aka 'kitchen table dealers' to the exploited masses in New York City). If I am going to see this movie, it will rented with the award-winning 'documentary' (Moore really lowered the criteria for 'documentary') 'Bowling For Columbine', and studied for the sake of retorting any types of so-called arguments that are pressed which unknowing others may actually use in public discourse.

Rent Equalibrium. It will make you feel better after watching the first movie mentioned. Not realistic but fun to watch. :)

No, the "good guy" meant that the SA applied to states and said gun manufacturers were responsible for the death of his daughter. You know, the problem in this country is we do not teach the nuances of our language well enough. Prefatory clauses are about as well understood as who/whom usage.

Imagine that, making the foundation of one's argument a grammatical error. Go figure.

Also, alas...it has Linda Fiorentino in it. She's easy on the eyes....but I think I'll avoid this one.

But I understand it well - why don't these fools?

It's not like English is my first language or anything...

But I understand it well - why don't these fools?Micro, Micro, Micro...

If you only knew the level of ignorance in this country. The people that you mistakenly(IMO) identify with, the liberals, have a death-grip on our nation's public school system.

Our schools aren't places of instruction and learning, so much as they are places of indoctrination and lies.

Unless a person attends home-school, private school, or that rarest of gems, a public school in which children are actually taught, then they are quite likely to be unable to read, do math, understand history, etc...

It is a problem that has become endemic in my country. At its most extreme, this problem produces people like Johnny Jihad bin-Walker Lindh. For the most part it merely produces future Demorats.

Inroads to fixing the problem have been made. Home-schooling has been a huge success. And I dare say that in the next few years we may even have school vouchers that caring parents may use to send their kids to private/parochial schools.

Once that happens, public schools, and the corrupt, inept - and frankly, stupid - jerks that run/teach in them will implode upon themselves, as all socialists (and their systems) eventually do.

Duncan Idaho: You don't think, perchance, that anybody taught me constitutional law?

It's plain, simple language:

A well-regulated militia, BEING NECESSARY to the security of a free state, / the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not to be infringed.

Clearly, the second part is put there BECAUSE of the first part - but it's in no way modified by it. It merely says that because because we need this well-regulated militia, we will not infringe upon the right to carry and own weapons. That's it... and I didn't get it from a SCOTUS ruling. I got it from READING THE TEXT.

How idiotic does one have to be to misunderstand it...:banghead: :banghead:

A very bad movie.

What got me the most was Snipe's daughter was killed by a handgun... in Venezuela! So of course it become a condemnation of the 2nd Amendment of the United States, how?

How idiotic does one have to be to misunderstand it...Spend some time over at that bastion of liberalism Demoratic Underground.

Then quantify, if you will, how idiotic those dolts are, and you will have answered your own question.

There's quite a few pro-gun DU posters, which are rather smart, like Jody for example.

There's quite a few pro-gun DU posters, which are rather smart, like Jody for example. You are aware, I'm sure, that the pro-gun posters are almost never Demorats, correct? And that they are almost never liberals?
