Another installment of "Dead Cop Review".

There never was an out-front explanation of why THR is considered a good place for this. Or the motivations of the poster.

Perhaps we can cut and paste the daily obituaries of whomever we feel? :scrutiny:

Gewehr98 :

Perhaps we should have a section on the forum for LE's then. Your lack of compassion at an officers demise/murder anywhere in the world speaks volumes about your attitude toward LE's in general.:barf:

As there is no place for LE's on the forum to post about these types of things, where would you suggest we stick them? Or do you suggest the LE's here should not post something of interest to them at all?

Moderators, what do you think?

I agree with Gewehr. I don't think THR is the place for this. This is not a law enforcement forum. This is not an obituary forum. The officer was not a member of THR.

Articles about police killed in action should be limited to lessons learned, strategy and tactics type topics. Obits on THR should be limited to THR members, or people of note in the firearms community (successful target shooters, activists, gunsmiths, etc) .

One of the high points of THR is the high info to noise ratio. I see these obits as noise.

Folks, let's not go overboard about this. I agree with those posters who say that they don't like to see L&P turned into an obituary board - they're right, that's not the purpose of this forum. We're not heartless, and all of us, I'm sure, hate to see a good cop brought down in the line of duty. All of us, I'm sure, would like to see those who do such things brought to justice. However, the topic is neither legal nor political, and as such doesn't really belong here.
