I need some help. WISCONSIN

About 19 years ago, I bought a brand new in the box, Smith & Wesson Model 657, .41 Mag, 2" barrel and a round butt. I was told that there were only 5,000 made. I have never shot the gun and it is still NIB.

Problem is, I can't find any listings of the gun. I would like to find out what it is worth!

Can anyone give me some ideas?

Thanks for your assistance.

I tried to post a pic but it wouldn't upload. If you need to see a picture, e-mail me and I can send it to you.

I guess it is actually a 3" barrel when measured from the face of the cylinder.

You can also go over to www.smith-wessonforum.com and post about it. A very knowledgable and helpful group.

If you want, send me some pics, different angles, a close up of the model marking on the crane, and one with a ruler. I will post them for you.

Blue Book of Gun Values, 28th ed, Fjestad

S&W M657, .41 mag.....100%- $550

Intrestingly enough, the BB lists 3 bbl lengths, but not a 2 1/2 in.
Manfacture began in 1986.
As suggested above the S&W forum guys will fill in all the details, I'm sure.

Also, Old Fuff is very knowledgeable, and should be along soon.

I had initially posted this question a different area and was directed to this area. The pictures are now posted in the other thread.
