You know, shotguns are one of the most versatile types of guns around. I would venture to guess most of us here have at least one.
How about a shotgun photo or two? Doesn't matter if it used for hunting or home defense. Any and all shotgun pics are welcome! Lets keep text posts in this topic to a minimum, and instead focus on the "porn".
Here is mine.

I just may be,TDH. Well used shotguns have their own charm.
Pwelp, you're off to a good start. Repeat frequently.
A nice set, Todd. Keep going....

Here is what keeps the King of England out of my face.
Top to bottom:
Yugoslavian SKS (not a shotgun, but still part of the family)
Remingtom Sportsman 12 Pump 870
Mossberg 183 .410

Lot's of black and tacticool. Here's an old JC Higgins/Aya.
The mossberg on the right has more wear marks, but the others are catching up nicely. Only one of those four guns hasn't taken game (the 18" 870, second from left) only because I've only had it a few months.
The 835 on the right has slain deer, doves, squirrels, and rabbits. The 870 on the right has as well (wearing different barrels at times).
But if you really want to see three generations of wear marks here you go:

Dang, I'm seeing some shotguns that are sweeter than honey! BKjeffrey, I am totally digging the Sears Survival Special and the sick Tactical birdguns! How is that Specops stock working?
February 2, 2008, 07:20 PM
Here ya go. My two target guns in my shotgun collection. Wingmaster TB trap and my 12ga Ruger Red Label 30" Sporting. The rest of my collection are old Winchesters which I don't have pictures of and, for Daves pleasure, a well worn 20ga 870 Express. Sorry, no picture of that either. Ignore the foofy stuff, its my wifes!!!
Remington Model 31 16GA. Picked it up yesterday at an estate auction. Pardon the graininess.
Got a Mossberg Silver Reserve O/U. The firing pins have been replaced and the thing is a champ with many many flawless rounds being being put through it. The second is a Mossberg 500A set up as my home defense shotgun.
"Ok number6jr, besides loving my Rugers I also have a real thing for old Winnies! That is a beautiful collection! I didn't realize that "97s were made into the '50s! Please tell me about them."
The 1954 is a "former police gun", at least that is the story I was told. 18"+ Cylinder bore marked, with the late fat forend, and a MPPD engraved on the base of the stock. The rest are all pretty much stock. I really don't collect them for sitting around, the 1919 with the kick killer pad, I used for cowboy action, until my tennis elbow acted up from holding up all that barrel. I need to find an early forend for the 1954 and use it, I just can't hold three shells and work the action with the fat forend.
And Rugers, I got a whole messa Ruger SA's. Reaaally want to get a Gold Label and take it to a cowboy match someday....
Stoeger Coach Guns are very nice for the price. I paid 300 for mine and it has been completely reliable. They are stiff to begin with, but I took mine appart and loosened it up a little. It makes for a handy bird gun.

This is my only shotgun. It's an 870 HD that I've added a 20 inch IC RS barrel, XS sights, factory LE three round extension kit, Wilson Combat mag spring and follower, factory LE stocks, R3 recoil pad, and a Wilderness Tactical standard carry sling with Uncle Mike's swivels. The pouch is a BDS Tactical Ultimate Dump Pouch.
Hello from the UK everybody.
My two shotguns, 1st is a Greener GP in 12ga, 26 inch and half choke.
Bottom is my 870 Wingmaster, 28 inch multi-choke also in 12ga.
I have the original wood and the plastic set, which is what I use in the field.
February 16, 2008, 04:45 AM
Wow, that's very cool that you're in the UK, Hornet; welcome
February 16, 2008, 10:58 AM
Welcome, Neil. I've shot a Greener made like that, nice sturdy single shot.
FYI, once long ago, I was stationed in Essex. Near Braintree. Nice area....
February 16, 2008, 05:22 PM
DAVIDSDIVAD, Thanks for the welcome.
Dave McCracken, Again thanks, Braintree is about 25 miles away, nice area but getting a bit built up now.
The Greener, possibly my favourite shotgun of all time, I cannot see me ever being without one.
I have had many guns over the years, but I always seem to have a GP in the safe.
This one is the best condition one I have had so far, I just like the simplicity of the design.
Very easy to strip and clean, fires any 2 3/4 inch shell I might ever need.
I usually use fairly hot 30 gram loads of 6's, but occasionally hot 36 gram loads of 4's for geese.
And as it is fairly heavy for a s/b gun recoil is not a problem when you may only fire 4 or 5 shots a day.
I have also shot trap with it, then I drop to 24 grams of 7.5's, again recoil is ok, provided I stay below 100 shots a day.
Looking for a nice .410 SxS at the moment, AYA round-body No2 or similar with 28 or 30 inch barrels, seems Hens teeth are easier to find :banghead:
PS: I can't find a "quote post" button, anybody ?

Just received my new Remingtion 870P Vang Comp Police Magnum and have about 35 rounds through it.
Both slugs and 00 buck. Pattern at 25yrds is a nice 15" too for the 9 pellet buck.
Have to wait for the weather to clear up to get more extensive use out of it though.
870 Wingmaster 20 ga 3 inch. I have taken 1000s of upland game birds and ducks with the WM.

My temp HD shotgun (until I can save up for an 870)...
it was in ehh shape when I got it but for 50 bucks what do you expect.
I cut it off 18.5" popped on the holder for the ultraFire xenon light (bright like a mofo) I kinda got ghetto with the fiber sight, thats a piece of PVC sanded down inside to make a tight fit and epoxied to stay put...
I also redid the bluing and refinished the wood... Over it's not bad lol...

ye' old 590 with mismatched vintage 500 furniture.
This is my Mossberg 835 Ulti-Mag in HD mode. It has a factory 18.5" barrel with a 3-1/2" chamber, "Tactical breacher" forend and a mag extension. It holds (7+1) 2-3/4" shells, (6+1) 3" shells or (5+1) 3-1/2" shells.....I am thinking of a few more mods. Maybe a heat shield, side saddle and a speed feed stock that holds 4 additional rounds:
Lightsped... How bought this then.. Here are a bunch of random pictures ive collected over the past few years. Different shotguns/different setups ive had. I absolutly love 870's, I actually have 2 more ive built ill post up soon.

I am very pleased with this TTN/Cimarron 1878 coach gun,
I ordered from Cimarron. They do did a very nice custom color case hardening job - outstanding!
I also just ordered this Galco (five shot) leather butt stock for this unit.

My almost finished Mossberg 195 12ga bolt action project, I just need to get the stock refinished and dents pulled out. Paid $25 for it, spent $65 or $70 getting it in this shape. Best $25 ive ever spent.

Police magnum with tritium sights, and a little light for the wife's night searches while I'm at sea. She's pointed it at a guy in the back yard before, and the told him, "I'm going to snatch out your soul if I ever see you again!" and worked the action. Long story short, he left with no trouble.

March 4, 2009, 02:21 AM
thank you. i like the way it makes the gun look and it doesn't interfere with the forend.
