CDNN has 8 round Italian made mags for sale, which also have Novaks in the description. I called down there, and apparently they are not Mec Gars. Is Novak making 220 mags now? The price isn't bad compared to factory mags- is it good or junk? Anyone know?

I have yet to buy one but have heard nothing but good reports. Some say they are better than factory. The company making them ACT MAG or something to that effect is made up of old Mec Gar employees.

Yep, I'm planning on picking up some of these.
One of the on-line sellers has nickeled ACT Mags coming, they are only $19.99 plus shipping.
Also, check out www.sigforum.com for other comments regarding these mags.

When the stainless factory 8-round 220 mags cost $40+, the NOVAK/ACT mags are a true bargain. Beautifully made, with pretty much the exact same base pad as factory. The feed lips appear a little straighter than factory, but it has not been a problem in the three 220s that I shoot regularly. I have a few blue ones, and they have yet to show any FTF problems. The bluing is holding up surprisingly well.
www.copesdist.com is offering the upcoming nickel-finished versions soon.... cannot wait! The advertise the blued at $19.99.

Folks, I'm looking to get some extra mags for my Sig P220 and have discovered that they're A) difficult to find and B) rather costly. CDNN has the following listed on their website http://www.cdnninvestments.com/sigsauer22042.html and if you'll notice that it say's Novaks on the bottom.
My question is: Are these produced in Italy for resale under the name of Wayne Novak? Or is the name a coincidence?

one of our local pd's have tested the ACT SIG 220 mags and have decided that they are good and have ordered them. I have seen them train and they drop their mags on the concrete (pretty painful to watch), and the SIG's take a good beating since they generally have metal floor plates.

One of the first importers, if not the first, was www.precisionsights.com and a bunch of us at SIGForum got great deals on buys of five or six mags at a time.
That's how I ended up with six of the original ACT-MAG's even though nobody had even tried them out yet.
I'll never buy another P220 factory eight round mag again. IMHO it's just paying too much when it is not needed.
And ACT-MAG makes the mags for Novak to sell under his own name for those who are getting a bit confused.

Merged two threads on the same subject.
I ordered 5 of these this morning - and CDNN only had 18 left in stock when I called! (Well, 13 after I'd bought mine... :D ) If you want some, order quick!

I just got them today. I called last friday and they came today. Not bad, service wise.
I think appear better than the factory mags, they look as strong as the factory mags. A range session will tell me more, but based on everything I've heard here, I don't have any concerns.

six blued ones. 8-rnd. fit and finsh is excellent, functioned flawlessly(all six of them), and the blueing couldn't have been applied any better.. better than the blueing on most guns i've seen. will it last?, looks like it, but only time will tell.
