I was trying to wait for Dean to have the honor of starting it up but looks like you beat him to it. I'm game again. What do we need to worry about again. Father's Day, last day of school...... I like mid June as always.

:D It's never too early to start talkin' about gettin' together with some of the nicest folks on the planet!:D

Shirt sleeve temps would be nice (late June?) but I'm open to anytime.

I LOVE YOU MAN!;)

Father's Day is the 15th so I would vote for the next weekend of the 21st or the following weekend the 28th primarily leaning toward the 21st of June. What's your school bus calendar looking like Pops?

John, I'll bring more 1911s for you to try (did you ever buy an AR?) ...

I never got an AR-15. To rich for my blood. My step-daughters (out of the house) keep askin' me for money. Okay, truth be told, they have me wrapped around their little fingers. I'll be bringin' some goodies everyone might appreciate.:D

OK. Just where the heck IS

Manastash Ridge, Washington ????

Polishrifleman
February 5, 2008, 02:42 AM
Where????? Being From Washougal you might get asked that question a fair amount.

Well that's for us to know and you to find out I guess.:neener:

For starters you travel over Manastash Ridge going from Ellensburg to Yakima. It runs East West from the Army grounds to the Cascades. It would be about a 3.5 hour run for you.

June 21 would be perfect for me. I had to retire from the kid herding business, so that is no longer a factor. Warmer is better, so far as I'm concerned, having been raised in So Nevada.

I'd like to see a really good turn out this year. After all, last year we only had to run three shifts at the breakfast table, doncha know. :D Somebody needs to go up early and make sure the chipmunks are out of hibernation for JP. :p

I'll bring my usual eggs and bacon. Let's see if we can get a separate cooking fire ring set up, so my pot roast looks less like charcoal briquettes.

Where else can ya get together with the finest folks on earth and do the 7-11 scenario! :D

Is this a whole weekend event or are people encouraged to come up when they can?

J. Parker:

I know what you mean. I was lured out to Washington by a coworker who (accurately) predicted I'd love it there, but moved back East for law school. (True story: my dad used to call me a "Philadelphia Lawyer" long before I knew what either of those words meant, which always makes me smile now that I nearly am one.)

Now I'm about 90pct certain that's where I'll choose for the short- and medium-term future. Mountains, snow, awesome weather, are all good, but mostly it's that the attitude is good.

I hope you all have a good time at this event.

EDIT: just looked at the map -- not so far from Seattle! I was guessing this would be in the far eastern stretches of the state, but No.

Would a border jumper from Portland be welcome? Have AR's will travel. :D

February 12, 2008, 01:04 PM
It is a whole weekend affair but showing up when you can is not a problem. We start late Friday afternoon (usually no shooting) setting up camp and getting to meet one another break bread and tell "true" stories around the campfire. Saturday have some breakfast then go shooting break for lunch shoot some more, dinner then more stories. Sunday break camp shoot a little then head out mid afternoon.

Cougfan, border jumpers within the states is encouraged.:neener: There are usually one or two "Dogs" that show up but they make great moving targets.

tell "true" stories around the campfire.

Sure glad you put the quotes in there. Don't go cramping my style, now. :D

Using "Dogs" for targets isn't that much fun, actually. They just can't seem to get out of their own way, much less the target zone. :p

Cougfan, I'm welcome and I'm scheduling my 50th reunion over in Pendleton this summer. Come on up.

Ah, I see Pops linked to the pics displaying the not-so-svelte Old Dog ... Does this AR make me look fat?

John, are you encouraging more lawyers to migrate up here? (just kidding, I have lawyers in my family)

And to anyone else who hasn't met any of these guys -- I can't emphasize enough what a nice bunch of folks they are and what a treat it is sharing a campfire and shooting with 'em, with thanks due to the Polishrifleman's gracious hosting on his terrific property.

Hey, I think I can actually make it this year! :) Sweet.

Anything I should know about coming out?

armedandsafe
March 10, 2008, 08:32 PM
DON'T come up in a motorcycle.

My number3 idiot son came up on his Harley last year and that caused it to rain the Thursday and Friday before the meet. :D:D:D He was not happy (until he got there.)

Actually, I think I pretty well nailed it in the first posting. We each bring a little food for lunches and snacks. Bring amo. I'm bringing a 6lb pot roast for Saturday night, 6 dozen eggs and about 5 lbs of bacon. Bring ammo. Polish usually has something bubblin' on the stove and we have been known to have a bird in the deep fryer. Bring ammo. I suspect Christopher and Ashley will bring something in the vegetable department. Bring ammo. Polish has some water cans on hand and I usually bring a few gallons. Bring ammo.

I'm bringin' snacks....ie, chips, beef jerky, The Captain, my cheery personality, I gotta truck camper!, ammo, toilet paper, a new G21, a semi vintage S&W, etc, etc.

It'll be great to see a bunch of damn nice fella's again!:)

:D:D How about more smilies like GlockTalk has? Hehehehehe.

So Balog inquiredAnything I should know about coming out?
Other than it'll be a super bunch of guys (and maybe a gal or two), with exceptionally good taste in guns, with whom to share a campfire and do a bit of shootin' ... generously hosted by PolishRifleman (& brother) ...

Nothin' ... (oh, 'cept maybe, bring ammo)

John, I'm still kickin' myself for not buying that Model 66 off ya ...
