Williams WAK47 elevation screw

I've come by a Williams aperture sight for the AK-47. It came to me without it's elevation screw.
I matched it as close as I could at the hardware store, with a "6-40x3/8 set screw". It screws in easily about a turn and a half, and then binds, so I suspect this isn't quite right.
Anybody know what size and thread this should be?

Not at all sure, but I'll wager that if you call Williams they will ship you a replacement screw posty hasty.
I had 'misplaced' the rubber sholder buttplate on a stock once and the manufacturer sent me a replacement at no charge even tho I had explained it was indeed my fault for losing it.

Thanks. I called them. It's a "headless 6-48", and they are sending me one.
