Bullseye Bullets... What do you use?

Justin has a thread in the reloading section. http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?p=4156456#post4156456
Those of you that shoot Bullseye, what do you use for bullets? I've been pouring my own for practice, and have found out that they're not near as accurate, (although they look fine), as my very experienced friend's bullets.
I hope to get to pour with him soon so I can learn what I can to improve my process.
I need bullets that will do better than this: http://steveandrhonda.clearwire.net/Gunstuff/BestSFduello2007.jpg

The best bulets I have found are from Penn Bullets http://www.pennbullets.com/index.html
I shoot the 180gr and 200gr SWC 45s and the 148gr DBBWC. The 45s come in match grade in the 200gr. I have tried many other bullets are thier quallity in unmatched so far.

I'm using Bullet Works 200 grain SWCs for the long line (www.bulletworks.com) and 185 KEAD SWC's for the short line (www.keadbullets.com). Bullet Works is just over in Breckinridge, so I can pick them up; no shipping charges. And KEAD will drop them off at the Dallas Club if I'm there for a match. He does ship 2K in a flat rate USPS box, so shipping is not too bad.
For my .38 Special Clark 1911 I use either Hornady 148 HBWCs or Remington 148s for matches. For practice, I still have a bunch of Western Nevada DEWCs that work just fine.

Those prices look good wish I lived a little closer.

It is nice that they're both close to home.
I've been very pleased with the Bullet Works 200 grain SWC. I shot a 91, 90, 89 yesterday at 50 yards. Of course the rest of the day went to #$%^&*, but I was pleased since this was my first 2700 of the year and I really haven't been practicing much.

I've got everything at my club to set up mock BE out doors as the weather gets better. Timer, turning targets at 25 and SF at 50yds. But some Ransom rest testing last week proved that my bullets were not good enough through my gun. A friends loads, although just some copper clad and not as good as his H&G pours, were much better. The target I linked was my best SF from Duello league last spring using his bullets. From Ransom rest they'll do much better. While my pistol is certainly not a tuned BE gun, in order to at least be competitive I do want to wring out the most from it. I believe that I must start with the best bullets to do so. The rest is up to me on the line.

I use(d) star 185 LSWC-HP and now will be switching to Zero of the same configuration.
4.3 of Winchester Super Target.
2 inch groups at 50 yards.

Did you also take into consideration what loads you were both using? In other words, was he using the same powder and amount as you? If not, I would not blame the bullet.
When I had my Clark .38 Special 1911 tuned a couple months ago, I gave the gunsmith some factory Rem rounds to try through it and some of my reloads. The Rem rounds grouped at an inch and a half at 50 yards. My reloads grouped at about 3 inches. Same bullet, but the factory loads were at about 725 fps; my reloads were at 790 fps. Since then, I have reduced the powder charge in my reloads to get them down to the 725 fps level.

His loads- Mass produced with equipment better than the blue stuff hanging off my bench.
200gn plated SWC pushed by 4.0gns of Bullseye, Remington primed, WW brass.
200gn LSWC pushed by 4.0gns of Bullseye, Remington primed, .452" sized/lubed (H&G 68), WW brass.
(He says his SF load is an H&G 78, and shoots tighter than his H&G 68's that he uses for T/R Fire)
My lead offerings-
Lyman 452460 at 202gn +-1%, pushed by 4.0gns of Bullseye, Remington or CCI primed, .452" sized/lubed, WW brass.
His plated SWC groups are half the size of my loads. His LSWC bullets through my gun shoot almost half that size again.
We both use a Star Lube/Sizer for lead bullets. We are using different lube though.
I don't expect this gun to be a 2" @50yd gun, but I do endeavor to pull the most out of it that I can. It is not a built BE pistol. Just a tight bone stock Kimber with a 3.5pound trigger that's better than most. I've changed recoil and main spring for the lighter loads to function flawlessly. When I see the variations of accuracy with nearly identical loads, the best I can figure is either the bullet type, or the lead. I don't have a hardness tester, but my pours are/might be harder than they should be. I have not chronographed any of the loads, but I would expect that velocities are pretty close with having the same powder charge. Still, I should verify my loads have consistant velocities. I'll put that on the list of things to do. Differences in crimp could be a factor I suppose, but measurements across all three types are quite close. John has suggested that I order a sizing die one onethousanth larger than I have right now. I hope to get with him for his next pouring session to learn some. He's a wealth of knowledge.
That said, I really don't know if my issue is my reloading process, or my bullets. The reason for my post was a bit to figure out if those competitive in BE are pouring thier own, or are buying from reputable sources. I've been reloading for more than 20 years and do know that even within commercial offerings of the same bullet type and weight, I have rifles that prefer one bullet over the next. Now to figure out what this lil'old Kimber likes the best.

My Bullseye bullet is a 200g SWC from Oregon Trail. The brand name is Lazer Cast. I also like the 200g SWCs from Silver State, but they're more expensive than Oregon Trail and no more accurate. You can buy Oregon Trail bullets directly from the manufacturer but places like Midway usually sell them for less.

I was shooting the Zero 200gr SWC but the price has really went up on them, so I've switched to a 185gr SWCHP that NSK sales sells that is a copy of the Star bullet made by Precision delta. Neil at NSK has them made to his specs with his lube and is getting very good groups with them. they are selling for $168.00 shipped. the link is www.nsksales.com go to the specials page.
