I got one from Springfield. I was going to order it and put it in, but when I talked with the gunsmith he told me the frame would need to be slightly modified. I have the milspec. I had to send in my pistol for some warranty work and the price to install it was right. They not only put in the beavertail safety, put in a commander hammer, and then refinished it. The gun was almost 10 years old and had been abused by the previous owner. Now it looks absolutely new. I am trying to find out how much I paid, but they have a price list on their websight. To install is $100. Go to:
http://www.springfield-armory.com/custom.php
Download the 1911 page and the prices are listed. It only took 2 weeks to get all the work done. Excellent job!

Not the prettiest thing ever, but it functions perfectly. No fitting required (for me.)
