Anyone using anything from Kirkpatrick Leather?

I'm looking to buy a holster for my 1911, and they look pretty good on their website.

I would just like to hear some opinions based on first hand experience with them.

Hi Buck,

I have one of their pancake holsters for a G26.
The holster has a shirtguard, but the guard was too large to get a full grip on the short G26. I returned it to get it corrected, and I drew a diagram as to what I thought I needed. They did it, but it was not correct even then.
I have a friend who does some leather work and he was able to take the gun and the holster and correct it.

I consider the holster OK, but not in the same league as others such as Sparks. I would much prefer K&D's Eagle or Laredo Defender which is in the same price range.

The folks at Kirkpatrick were very nice to deal with.

Regards,
Jerry

That's been my experience. It's an older family owned & operated company in Texas. Good leather, and good workmanship. But their designs tend toward the more traditional kind of holsters. I suspect that satisfaction depends on what you are looking for.

I like mine.

Its a mag carrier and holster for the S&W 3913 LS.

The belt loops were made for a 1 1/2" belt rather than the 1 3/4" that I requested. A phone call and a few days solved the problem.

I have several 1911 holsters made by the fine folks at Kirkpatrick Leather of
Laredo, Texas. One is the " Compact Undercover Model", and the other is the 5"
1911 "Undercover Model". I use belts, and magazine pouches made by them
as well. As the heading says, their leather is QUALITY all the way~! ;)
