Ok, guys, random question....

I am looking to buy a decent 1911 and am not trying to spend more than about 800$. I was browsing the web, and came across this dan wesson:
http://www.floridagunworks.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=FG&Product_Code=1386&Category_Code=FIREARMS+H+DANWESSON
I had never seen this gun before, as I have only been shooting a little less than a year, and I am assuming that this is an older model, since I have not seen this gun at any shops, sites, or even the CZ website for that matter. I have heard nothing but good things about the Dan Wesson's, and this one is around my price range, however, I am not really eager to buy from this place (how can a place expect you to send them hundreds of dollars and not even have a contact phone # listed???). But it got me thinking....

Are there any places that specialize in overstock or something of that sort, to where you could get NIB guns that were heavily discounted simply b/c they were last years models and the new models have arrived??

Guns aren't like cars. The value is based on condition, not age. A 3 year old brand-new-in-the-box Colt is worth as much as a brand-new-in-the-box Colt made yesterday.

Go to http://www.cdnninvestments.com and download the catalog, find what you want, call for the price (which is usually very good, then have your FFL email or fax them. It's 20meg plus catalog, I just save ot to my desktop then browse it at leisure. I've bought several guns from them, normally have the best prices of anywhere as they deal in a lot of model closeouts where they buy all the remaining stock.

They have a bunch of Springfields listed right now.
