I don't know how good of a deal it is, but I would buy it in an instant...it's just what I want in a SG.

They look like pre-ban: pistol grip AND mag extension, which I have been told is a very good price.

Barrel length is 18" - they look sweet, don't they?

Yeah, they're Choate stocks - is that bad?

No I love mine, but if thats a post ban 1187P thats a very illegal shotgun, as in pistol grip + mag extension + semi-auto = not good. ;~)

I emailed the seller this morning and he hasn't responded yet. I asked if they were preban sg's. They are police guns so are they exempt?

"(5) A shotgun that is a semiautomatic firearm is a
semiautomatic assault weapon if it--
"(A) is not generally recognized as being particularly
suitable for or adaptable to sporting purposes; and
"(B) has at least 2 of the following characteristics:
"(i) A folding or telescoping stock.
"(ii) A pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously
beneath the action of the weapon.
"(iii) A fixed magazine capacity in excess of 6 rounds.
"(iv) An ability to accept a detachable magazine.".

FYI, they are pre-94.

Ummm. Pre ban. These type of shotguns are not pre or post ban . Not regulated as they are not considered an assault weapon. but they were purchased by the department prior to 94.

This is the exact wording of the seller's response.

For $550 each, a good price. I'd consider buying one and "losing" that stock until I got a more accurate date from Remington.New standard 11-87 stocks, both synthetic and wood, are neither scarce nor all that expensive. It's a silly law, but let's not be silly about breaking it.

These would probably make as good a 3 gun shotgun as the new 1100 Competition Master written of elsewhere here for a couple hundred less. And a nice House Shotgun also.

Note, these may not cycle lighter loads well.

HTH...

That seems to take it from ignorance to outright fraud. A fraud that could result in you commiting a felony. yikes. personally i would sever all contact with this character and pretend it never happened.

You could still purchase it with no AWB. difficulties if you had the seller ship it with no stock. Al
