The ammo looks like the right stuff for those of us with
mil-spec pistols that need a FMJ shaped round for feed
reliablility.

MY 97B works fine with the SPEER and Remington JHPs.
Or I would put PowRball in it. Wonder if the 165 gr would
shoot high?

Hello. Surprisingly, the stuff hits about the same POA as the 230 grain rounds for me.

It will cost you a few hundred dollars to test this stuff enough to know if it will feed well in your gun...

Its almost a dollar a round.

Buy Federal EFMJ from www.ammoman.com. It's great ammo. If you have a .45 that only feeds hardball, this is the ammo you want. If you can find it at a gun show that's even better. I got a box of 50 for $16 at a show, it's $27/box at ammoman (still reasonable for 50 self defence rounds, consider most 20rd boxes of hollowpoints cost $15)

The only trouble with Federal EFMJ is that it has a truncated cone shape, with a flat tip.

Its profile is worse than many hollowpoints, and it doesnt feed like ball at all.

My guns that wont feed hollowpoints will also not feed EFMJ.

The stuff shoots very nicely in my Norinco and STI....not a burp and its got ALOT of power behind it.....

I agree that this stuff is too expensive. There are plenty of other good rounds in .45. I wouldn't use this stuff unless my gun choked on hollow points. There's a guy on GlockTalk selling Winchester Ranger T for a very reasonable price. PM me if you want his contact info.
