I remember reading a while back about a few guys who were loading some high pressure loads into a 12 ga. bolt action. They used really heavy single projectiles loaded into a longer 12 ga. type shell. They were legal because they were still able to fire 12 ga. shotshells at any time. It was sort of an upsized .410/.45 Colt shotgun.

Many were writing them off as crazy and I never really looked that hard at it before, but my mind was wandering last night.

I've searched THR and Google in vain. Does this ring a bell with anyone?

Thanks for the help.

There is a thread called "12 guage rifle from hell" in the rifle forum. I think that is what you are talking about.
