Got it today. It only took 6 days from when I ordered. I love it already. I can't wait until I need something to cut.

Here is a picture for those who haven't seen one. The one on the left is the Native III, and next to it is the navigator. Both excellent.

I just bought one tonight to keep the Native II company. I'm already in love.

What are the differences?

A very good friend just sent me a brand new Native III (George, you know him. You built him a very ugly truck, once. ;) ) He chose the Native III, I suspect, because I had an original Native stolen last year along with my wife's car stereo (she thought now that she lived down here in Mayberry she didn't need to lock up anymore.)
Differences? From the little time I've spent with it so far, I'd say it's an improvement over the original in every area.
1. Grip--First thing you notice is that the grip is much more rounded, with a palm swell added. It's a better solution in several grips, including saber and reverse (they've added deep lines across the "pommel" where I like to put my thumb.)
2. Blade--As with my first Native, it shaves hair with ease. But I like the new grind better. The original was ground more like a dagger for about half its length, with a diamond cross section. The Native III looks to be a bit stronger design, with the back swedge ground to a much narrower bevel. The very tip is just as thin, so slashing should be unaffected.
3. Clip--The new clip seems much less likely to take a set, which was my biggest complaint with the original. The original was stamped sheet metal and would always take a set, which then made it too loose in my pocket. The new one is made of thick wire, so it should be harder for it to form a crease across the width.
4. Pivot--It's smooth, but definitely much tighter than my old Native was. It's breaking in nicely and will probably be similar when it's done, but I suppose it might be a bit tighter. Lockup feels like a single piece of metal.
I showed it off to a co-worker today and he, as I should have expected, tried to test the edge against his thumb. Got a bit of a nick there, now.

Don you call that a truck?
He'll have to get something bigger to mount a Ma Duce on, that "truck" would probably roll from the recoil :D

Don you were talking abotu Spectre right?
So do you prefer the Native over Endura? If so why?

Spectre is a good man.
These are two different knives the Nat vs End. Both excellent. Which is better would depend upon the task at hand that the knife is for. You could say either is better depending upon the criteria.
Hmmm.... I like the Native's original double grind. I'd opt for an older unimproved knife. I had a few and never felt the need to have them improved. I'm still wanting an old Native in all stainless with a plain edge.
Lost it in a tussle at the end of a long foot chase.
